How to Apply
This website has up to date information about all the current vacancies within Alternative Futures Group.
For each vacancy, there is information about the role, salary and location; together with a job description, which details the tasks you might be responsible for in the role, and a person specification, which indicates the type of skills and experience you would need to do the job. Underneath each vacancy you will also see a link to download the application form. This can either be completed electronically and emailed to vacancy@alternativefuturesgroup.org.uk or completed by hand and sent to:
Alternative Futures Group
Human Resources,
The Anita Samuels Centre,
4 Ellison Grove
Huyton
Merseyside
L36 9GA
When completing the application form, you should complete all the sections. The supporting statement section is your opportunity to provide evidence of why you are suitable for the job you are applying for. We would advise you to take time to go though the person specification for the role you are interested in, and provide evidence of how you meet the essential/desirable requirements of the role.
If none of the current vacancies match your experience and career aspirations, we would still like to keep your details on file so that we can contact you in the future. In order to be placed in our ‘talent pool’, please send an email to vacancy@alternativefuturesgroup.org.uk with your details and a description of the role and location you are interested in.
If you are disabled…
We are committed to the employment and career development of disabled people. To demonstrate our commitment we use the disability symbol, which is awarded by the employment services.
If you have a criminal record…
Information regarding offences must be indicated in the declaration on the Application Form. Such information will not affect the short listing process, and will be considered after interview in a fair and consistent manner bearing in mind the responsibilities of the position applied for.
What happens next?
We will read through each application form and decide which applicants we want to invite to an interview or assessment centre. We will particularly look at the supporting statement, as this section gives us a lot of information about each individual.
If you are invited to an interview or assessment centre, you will receive a letter inviting you for a particular date and time, and also giving full details of what to expect on the day.
All our offers of employment are subject to satisfactory references, CRB checks and a health assessment. You may be asked to complete the CRB and health assessment forms prior to the interview and bring them with you to the interview. Otherwise, if you are successful at interview, you will be asked to complete these forms and send them back to us.
