Alternative Futures Group understands that the people who are our staff are our greatest asset. All our learning and development programmes are aimed at supporting the development needs of individual members of staff and helping them to support our organisational aim of delivering positive outcomes for the people we support.
We have an excellent induction programme, which exceeds regulatory requirements, for all new colleagues. This programme helps new staff to understand Alternative Futures Group; our history; our vision, mission and values; and our aspirations for the future. It enables new colleagues to develop their knowledge and skills so that they can provide a quality service to the people they support – and it is tailored to meet individual needs. Throughout the induction period new colleagues are supported through a range of classroom-based, distance or work-based development and assessment tools, delivered by their line manager, an appointed work based mentor and an identified member of the Learning and Development team.
A rolling programme of events ensures that staff continue to keep their knowledge and skills up-to-date, and includes acquiring formal qualifications, and the sharing of specialist expertise throughout the organisation. We believe that developing high performing leaders will enable all staff and people supported to realise our Vision. We also provide range of further development opportunities so that staff can develop in preparation for future career opportunities.
Alternative Futures Group is a highly recognised NVQ Assessment Centre and contributes to national and local decision making with regards to learning and development initiatives.
