Our Trustees have published our ‘Promise’ to our service users so that they can be clear about exactly what they can expect from us as their service provider.

The aim is that the ‘Promise’ will be the standard by which we deliver our services so it is important that our service users themselves have the chance to tell us what they want. So we asked the independent social enterprise, WebEnable, to organise a conference to enable all of the 700 or so people we support across the North West to get together and agree a set of statements that will form the ‘AFG Promise’.
Over two days – 17 and 18 July – more than 100 service users came together to talk about what are their expectations, needs and aspirations for the way their services are designed and delivered. With open and interactive sessions, including role playing, drama, drawing and discussion, all service users had an opportunity to contribute and the results achieved surpassed all expectations.
The Promise is built around our five key outcomes for service users: be healthy; enjoy and achieve; stay safe and secure; make a positive contribution; and enjoy economic wellbeing.
The ‘Promise’ is the charter for the way we organise our business to deliver the support that our service users need in the way that they want.
The ‘Promise’ will also help shape the way we test our performance and demonstrate our achievements. Success will be measured on how well we have delivered on our ‘Promise’ to our service users.
