Over the past six months, the people who use our services have been working together to come up with a design for a piece of art that will be installed within the grounds of our headquarters offices in Prescot.

The project has been developed in partnership with SAFE Productions, a social firm based in Merseyside which is a community and participatory arts enterprise ‘ supporting arts for everyone’ . SAFE Productions prides itself on being fundamentally inclusive; delivering public arts programmes alongside communities of interest regardless of age, circumstance or presumed capacity and has provided us with access to a breadth and depth of media and facilitative skills.

Service users were asked ‘'what does Alternative Futures Group mean to you and how do we help support you in your lives?’. A series of interactive workshops, facilitated by SAFE Productions, using clay, paints and a whole range of multi-media tools have been held and their ideas have been truly inspirational. Six different designs have been developed for consideration and the most popular will be developed into a piece of art to be displayed for all to see.
