20+ Years of Supported Living in Rochdale
6 May 2008
June will see the first anniversary of the transfer of services in Rochdale from Heywood and Middleton Primary Care Trust to Alternative Futures Group. The occasion will be marked by an informal celebration with tenants and families at our Hind Hill Street offices in Heywood.
Meanwhile the PCTs Learning Disabilities Service newspaper has published a ‘Tribute’ to celebrate over 20 years of Supported Living provided by the PCT. Put together before the transfer, the article describes the history of the services, from the days of Calderstones and Brockhall, through the early years of living in the community to the present day. Our Rochdale colleagues, as well as friends and staff working in other areas of the organisation will be interested to see a few familiar faces and read about people’s lives.
Angela Anslow, Locality Manager, transferred to Alternative Futures Group along with the services back in June last year. She says "It is a good opportunity to look back, and reflect upon how things have moved forward, what we have each brought to the organisation and what we hope yet to achieve".
