Involving People
Alternative Futures Group is committed to involving the people we support in the planning, running, monitoring and evaluation of services – at both an individual level (for their own support) and an organisational level.
At the individual level, all our service users are closely involved in the development of their own support through our person-centred planning assessments and reviews through which we ensure that the support and accommodation they receive meets their needs, and continues to do so as their experience and aspirations develop. Through this, and the in Control project, we aim to ensure they are able to exercise choice in where they live, who they live with and how they live their lives.

Service users are involved in recruiting their own staff teams, setting rotas which meet their needs, managing their own finances and fulfilling their rights and responsibilities as tenants and neighbours.
They may also choose to be involved through our network of local service user groups and in the work of the Service User Involvement Committee. Everyone is invited, encouraged and supported to take part in our user surveys, and are helped to access independent advocacy to support them to do so. At the same time people are encouraged to take an active part in the audit of services, both their own and others. This is in addition to taking part (if they wish) in visits from regulators, commissioners and also our Trustees.
