A New Home for James

I was first introduced to my present flat by my social worker Joise, Tony and Vicky.  Originally, my two bedroom flat was decorated in all mad colours, all the floors had green carpets and the back garden wall was completely black.  With the help of my new support workers Carl and Tracy, I decided my first plan would be to redecorate the entire flat and the back garden.  My next plan would be to have my rooms and the hallway refurbished with wooden flooring.  My third plan was to purchase new furniture for my lovely flat.  However, in the real world I needed support to help me price wooden flooring.

My social worker Josie and my support staff helped me get furniture for my lovely flat.  The back garden walls were black so I said to my support staff I would like to repaint them cream.  Since coming to AFG I feel I am more confident and active in my goals, getting my flat done to the way I want it.  I have been going on holidays with my support staff to Blackpool and Benidorm.  My support staff have helped me going to college and doing my activities like bingo, disco, going to the pub and going to church on Sundays.

My support staff also help me to pay my weekly bill, help me to budget my weekly money and also help me clean my flat.  I like watching my soaps on the TV and relaxing in my bedroom playing on my play station and watching DVDs.  I like writing stories and painting canvas.  My support staff helped me to save money to put letters on my mum’s grave which has just been completed. My support worker Tracy helps me to go shopping to get nice clothes which I like.  Each month I have progress meetings with my support worker Carl.  Carl opened an ISA bank account for me so each week I save £20 for a new sofa.  Once I have the amount of money my support staff will help me to pick the right sofa of my choice. 

I have just got my flat painted from top to bottom and my new sofa and a new rug for my living room.  In September I went to Blackpool with my support staff.  I’m still saving up for my 42 inch TV for my living room. 

AFG are the best company, they are nice to me and respect my wishes.  I had been with different companies it hadn’t worked out for me and AFG are the best company I have had.
